Service Exchange 101: Earn Loops for Every Activity
Loops: The Reward for Being Active
On LoopHood, you don't "charge" Loops for your time. Instead, **every positive activity earns you Loops** automatically from the platform. It's our way of thanking you for building the community.
5 Ways to Earn Loops
Whether you're helping a neighbor or just decluttering, you're earning. Here is how:
- Exchange Services: Help a neighbor move, walk a dog, or fix a faucet.
- Trade Products: Swap items you don't need for things you do.
- Rent Something: Borrow a ladder or lend out your camping gear.
- Review Transactions: Leave honest feedback after every exchange.
- Participate in Challenges: Join community events and special missions.
How Service Exchange Works
Since you aren't trading skills *for* Loops directly, how does a service swap work?
1. Agree on the Exchange
You find a neighbor who needs help assembling furniture. You agree to help. Maybe they pay you in cash, maybe they bake you cookies, or maybe you do it for free. That's up to you.
2. Complete & Verify
Once the job is done, you mark the transaction as "Complete" in the app.
3. Get Rewarded
Both you and your neighbor leave a review. **Boom!** You both earn Loops for completing the transaction and for leaving the review. Your Loop Score goes up, unlocking new perks.
Community Challenges
Want to earn faster? Look out for weekly challenges like "The Weekend Warrior" (complete 3 trades) or "The Green Neighbor" (list 5 items on Freecycle).
Why It Matters
Your Loop Score is your reputation. A high score shows you are an active, trusted, and generous neighbor. It helps you get verified, effectively getting you "front of the line" privileges when you need something yourself.
